Replicate Veeam Backups with DFS on Storage Server 2012?

I just wanted to confirm if there are any issues with this. Our Veeam backup repository is Windows Storage Server 2012 R2. Would it be fine to setup the repository as the master for DFS and replicate the backup files to other storage servers? Also, is there an issue with using deduplication and DFS?

Why not just set it up to do a copy backup, that way it can track both repositories in case one goes down. I see no benefit to circumventing the backup solution.

Well, doesn't the backup copy still go through the backup proxy? I was hoping to alleviate some work from the proxy and just simply have the storage repository continually sync to multiple datacenters. I guess I can give it a try.
