Replacing WHSv1.. options?

I'm trying to finally move away from my current WHSv1 setup and I need some suggestions on replacing the current duties it handles. I can move everything to WHSv2 and be done with it, but I'm open to other options.

Current duties
PVR recording (SageTV)
File Share for home network
Bulletin Boards for wife's photo club and my gaming group (using Simple Machine Forums)
Web-based access to nework files
Torrent box (will probably be moving to UseNet ;) )
PC backups

I've already moved my SageTV recording duties to a seperate Win7 VM and I plan on setting a seperate VM for Torrent/UseNet purposes.
For PC backups, I'll use a WHSv2 VM just because it makes backup/reimaging simple. Unless it would make more sense just to use the native WIn7 system image option. Never used it and I've almost converted all the systems in the house to WIn7 (just the kids' PC left on WinXP).
My SAN VM (OpenIndiana) should be able to handle file-share duties via SMB/CIFS, but since I'm pretty much a Windows-only home I'm wondering if it would be better to share via Windows for consistancy.
So, I guess the sticking points for me are is the easy access to files via a web interface (grandparents access photos, gaming group access shared files, photo club uploads pictures for peer review, etc.) and the forums.

Should I just stick with what works and use WHSv2 for these functions? If so, I'll just pass my storage to the VM and be done with it. Since I'm using OI and the disks will be configured in a RAIDZ2 setup, I don't need to worry about the lack of DE or one of the replacement options that have come out for WHSv2...
 
You may want to thoroughly review what the WHS2 web utility provides as far as admin vs. sharing features. Some people have found it less than adequate in setting up shares for different purposes, such as sharing pictures.
 
I'll definitely be testing it out since I plan to run a VM anyways for backup. v1 worked really well for all of our file-sharing needs. Guess I will see what all has changed..
