Replacing thermal pads on videocards

So I took apart an ASUS ATi 4870 to give it a good cleaning and some MX2 thermal paste.

The thermalpads that goes over the memory chips and whatnot are really dirty and I want to replace it.

What would you guys suggest for replacing these thermal pads?

I want to hear the same thing from some vid card vets. I myself have never taken off the stock HSF from a vid card.
 
Definitely use thermal PADS and not paste or whatever. With the core, it's a single unit that you are making contact with. But with RAM chips, there are multiple, and each one may be a different height (indistinguishable to the naked eye, but it can make a big difference in contact). Therefore, the relative thickness is necessary to ensure adequate contact between all RAM chips and the cooling unit. As NickJames mentioned, try to measure the thickness of your existing thermal pad and purchase that same thickness.

Jab-Tech and SideWinderComputers both also have various thermal pads available.
