I'm building a dual Xeon system and want to use the Dynatron H6EG cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835114053) but I'm a little shy of them because the reviews seem to say this thing is very loud.

Here's a big pic:

Now, could someone with the know how take a look at these and tell me if you think I could replace the fan on them? If I could, what's the best 60mm fan for them? Thanks!

Looks like to me, according to the pic you have to remove 4 of the fans screws and then remove the 2 lower screws (ones that use to lock the heat sink down to the board). That will be the reason why the put those screws. I don't know about any good 60mm fans maybe someone else will in put their info.

It looks like a compact cooler for like a 2U or even a 1U case. The only way to move enough air through it is to use a "fast" 60mm fan. Running a slower fan may not get you enough airflow.

Unfortunately for you, 60 mm fans are not a real performance part. That usually starts around 80mm. You will find few people with detailed knowledge of 60 mm fans.

I would shop around and see if you can find something that uses at least an 80mm fan.

It looks like if you remove the 4 screws in the corners of the fan, you should be able to slide the fan out from behind the spring loaded captive mounting screws on the bottom.

Wow, looking at the specs, it is a 2U cooler. The RPM's go up to 8500 and the noise is almost 50 dba.

After a little more digging...

Unfortunately again, this is a Server socket, and they give little thought to noise levels for the coolers. I would pick up a passive cooler and figure out a way to mount at least an 80 - 90 mm somewhere neat it blowing directly across it.
