Replacing Northbridge

its easy enought to remove the coolers, but you need to buy coolers for the mosfets and south bridge as well

there is just a set of screws on the underside, undo them and it pretty much just falls off.
 
I'm running SLI, what do I do about my Southbridge..?


And do I even need to remove my CPU water block?

you will need to cool the south bridge and mofets like i said, you can get coolers small enought for the south bridge easly enought, i think even newegg sells em.. ill look into this in a bit... the hard part is finding an air mosfet cooler, as i dont know of any.. but ill look for that at the same time.. i know that you can get W/C blocks for north bridge, south bridge and mosfet .. but its a tad pricy.. as for removeing the cpu block, no.. you dont have to, but you will have to break the loop and refill unless you have a ton of extra line to move the board around with.. (i dont reccommed trying to leave the block in the loop while trying to work on stuff, just asking for a hose to pull off and drip fluid every where.. ) break the loop, but leav the block on, it should be fine, just be care full of how you handle it so you dont but any wierd strains on the block.
 
OK, I'm trying other things out, to see why I can't maintain a stable 4.0Gz+ overclock.

Could my older GPU be the problem? I believe I hit 4.0GHz and was able to play Crysis stably, and that was with my Raidmax PSU, I got the OCZ GameXtream now.


I don't mind getting a waterblock for the mosfet, if I can find one for the 750i, but I have the Thermaltake Extreme Spirit Nortbridge cooler, I still have to put it on, but yeah.



Once I figure out my BIOS settings, I'm going to lower my multiplier, and raise the FSB, and see if it's a CPU or Mobo problem.
