Replacing HD 5870

Hi Guys! I currently have an HD 5870 and I am in the market to replace it now. I have a budget of $750 total including tax where applicable.

I currently upgraded my memory to 12gb on my motherboard and I am running an OC' i7 920 @3.8ghz on air cooling. My signature has the CPU fan I'm running.

I am on the fence about two HD 7770 or one 7950. Here is why, if I get a 7950 I probably will have to wait to upgrade my monitor and I would really like to run Eyefinity. Given that my budget is $750, would two HD 7770's outperform my HD5870? My goal is to run BF3 on UItra. On Ultra my HD 5870 puts out 30fps on average but on high settings with HBAO about 40fps and the game is playable, but man I would really like moar! lol

So I am asking for a few suggestions. The best 7770's I can get if they are better than one HD5870 and can get me what I want and also, two monitors I can couple with one 24''lcd i already have. The two other monitors would have to be smaller because I'd like to keep some desktop space. I have a 48'' desk.

Out of those 2 options get 1 7950.
A 7950 has 3gb of ram where as the 7770's only have 1gb. You'll hit a vram limit and be forced to keep your settings under ultra. If you're going to use more than 1 monitor, you'll especially want the extra vram.

i run 2 6870s (1gb each) and I have to tone my settings down a notch since crossfire doesn't seem to like hitting those vram walls. Once i hit the vram limit with crossfire enabled, the entire game pauses to load.

I always advise, if you have the money right now to buy 1 high end card, or 2 mid range cards, always go for the high end. You'll eliminate potential any crossfire scaling and stutter issues and will have consistently smooth gameplay in all your games.
 
Any plans on what you're going to do with that 5870 when you replace it? I might take it off your hands :)
