I am replacing my main hdd in my pc with a ssd drive, I downloaded a program called easeus disk copy, I am going to give it a try to try to copy my entire os etc over. I just a week or two ago rebuilt my pc, reinstalled windows etc and do not want to start over with that on new drive.

What is a recommended method to do this? Anyone use the disk copy software mentioned before?

I used the easeus disk copy, worked perfectly, new drive is blazing fast, what a difference! :)

i used the Acronis software that came with the Intel drive i just got and it worked flawlessly.

To further add-on and prevent creating a separate thread, I was going to ask the same thing having just bought an SSD today.

Using Macrium Reflect (Free) and having imaged a 640GB HDD and trying to re-image that onto a smaller drive (480GB Mushkin SSD). Are there any extra steps one needs to perform to make this as painless as possible? I know you have to shrink the volume (not sure if Macrium does that automatically), but IIRC there was something you have to do to fix the sectors on the SSD after doing so to get performance to its maximum potential or something like that.
