I'm looking to replace my fans in my case, i've had the case for about 2ish years and i feel like the fans in the case just aren't pushing enough air. I'd like to keep a blue LED fan in front, and the back fan does not mattrer. i've looked at these.
this for the front, and this for the back. Is it ok that the fnas speeds are different? or should i get the same speed ones? also, does anyone know what fans the antec lanboy ship with? i want to compare the audibility (is that even a word?) of the old to the new.. noise isn't really that big of deal to me, but the fans on there now i can barely hear... but they also push very little air..

The other info you can google so I won't bother. As to whether or not it matters if your intake/exhaust fans run at different speeds will depend if you want a positive/negative pressure in the case. This has been debated forever and you just need to do what is best in your situation.

I buy the high speed Yates from Petras and use a sunbean fan controller, I use it for every fan in my case so I can adjust speed/noise level to my needs. I buy Yates only from petras because they are a little higher quality, but of course they cost a little more too. The best combination for speed/sound if you don't want to fiddle with anything is the medium speed Yates.

On all my cases I keep a slight positive pressure to completely rid it of hot spots and minimize dust, with the intakes being filtered of course.

I made marks on my fan controller for when doing anything but gaming, then I crank it when I play. It takes almost a full 2 seconds, and I never have an overheating problem when I play, and I have almost zero noise when I do everything else.

I am a fan of Ultra kaze.

like previous poster said.. if you want to create certain pressure, would depend on what you want speeds to be, or how many you have going intake and exhaust.

yeah, i googled it shortly after, in case anyone is ever searching, the fans stats are Fan Specs:
- RPM: 1200
- CFM: 38.94
-dB(A): 24.85

and i am unaware with the concept of keeping a case with positive/negative preasure. I assume i would want to keep it positive like you said, as my living environment is EXTREMELY dusty, and i can't stand having to clean clumps of dust out of my case every 3 months. In order to obtain a positive preasure, would my exhaust have to excede my intake? one more question, has anyone used this sunbeam controller with a lanboy? as in, do the knobs stick out too far for the door to close?

postive=more intake. another fan to consider are scyte s-flex series, higher price but quality fans.

Positive the CFM intake must exceed the CFM exhaust.

It will also help to put filters on your fans :)

My antec p182 has a positive air pressure set up with two scythe slip stream 1200 rpm's in the front(one mounted on a scythe fan bay) and two slipstream 800 rpm's in the exhaust. It helps a lot with trapping most of the dust on the front fan filters, but very small dust still passes through the filters into my computer, so I still have to clean out my computer every half year or so.

is there anyway to make a majority of the dust get stuck on the exhuast fans? other than not having a filter on the front? the front fan on the lanboy is kinda a pain to get to... how often do you have to clean the filters?

That Sunbeam controller you asked about is the one I use. It's the most powerful and functional one in that price range when I bought it. You won't be able to keep the left knob on though, it'll hit your door. Didn't bother me, I just popped it off and it still functions fine without it.

As far as the front filter goes, just get a really thin screw-on filter, it'll stack on top of your fan and screw in with the same factory screws. All ya gotta do is pop off the blue intake shield and give it a wipe now and then, nothing to it.

Thank you SOO much for that information. I had been searching far in wide trying to figure out if i could pop off the knob and the case still close the door. also thanks for the info about the blue shield thing. I did not realize it popped off haha.
