Replacing a dell motherboard?

My friend wants to replace the case and motherboard in his dell e520. His dad won't pay for a new computer so He's going to just get the mobo case w/psu

What is wrong with his current motherboard? How did you come to that conclusion?

I'd rather get a replacement board instead of getting a new case, PSU, motherboard, heatsink, etc. If the board is really fried, here is a replacement. I doubt that is the problem though...

Well that could very well be a faulty PSU or memory, etc.
