Replacing a 2nd hard drive (modular bay)

I have a Toshiba Satellite 5205-S703 laptop. This laptop has a second bay for
a 2nd hard drive. The 2nd hard drive (original MK6026GAS) crashed and
has to be replaced. So I purchased a new compatible hard drive (MK6026GAXB).
I placed in the modular bay and the 2nd drive does not show up under My Computer
as before. I did check under Properties in My Computer and it is listed under
Hard Drives, but so is the old hard drive. In fact the computer does say a new hardware
is found with the new hard drive. I did notice that the new hard drive has two extra pins that
are not used when I attach it to the modular bay. Am I using the wrong hard drive
with wrong connections?

My question is how do I solve this problem? Do I have to format the new drive?
If yes, how? I thought that I may need a new driver for the hard drive. I looked
and could not find it on the web. I would appreciate any help for a newbie.
