Replacing a 140mm fan?

I have a Tagan BZ 700W PS. The fan broke inside and I switched it out with a 120mm, ran to a motherboard port. I'm looking to sell the PSU and can't really have it in that state, so I was wondering if I could purchase a 140mm fan for it, and where I can get it. I've looked before but only came across a few sites. Anyone have any info?

I might be wrong, but I thought I read that PSUs should have ball bearing fans since the fans usually lay down horizontally. All other case fans should be brushless since they sit vertically.

Is there any truth to this?

Also, wish Noctua would release their 140mm fan soon!

That is generally correct. Sleeve bearing fans should not be used in a horizontal orientation.

I meant 135mm. Doh! Is there any way to get stock fans, or stock power supply fans?

I hate to break it to ya, but your not gonna be able to find a 135mm fan. I've looked lol there just not out there, bet you might be able to do is contact the power supply company and see if you can order a stock replacement. However If I were you, I think I would simply replace that power supply with one that had a 140mm fan. There cheap right now for a decent one, and if you have to replace a fan in the future you won't run into this problem again.

The 3rd alternative you might have would be to do a little modding /grin
buy a cheap 140mm fan take off the case to the powersuppy and drill out the new holes for the 140 and and bolt it up wiht some washers and bolts. I would use the new nylon / plastic screws so you don't have any metal in that area.

There are 135mm fans out there,
I have a few myself - not selling though

Google EBM Papst 5100 series
the exact part number you need is:
5112N
It is a 12V fan rated at 147cfm and draws 9.5 watts
The fan may cost more than the power supply is worth ;)

There are plenty other alternatives out there, have you tried Delta, NMB, Sunon ?

Can't you take a $10 140mm fan (Directron, Newegg) and ream out the holes in PSU case or trim off the plastic around it to get it to fit? After the mounting holes have to be moved only 2.5mm and just 2.5mm trimmed off each side.
