I'm presently running an Intel DX58SO board that I believe to be the culprit of a bad ground issue.
I've been getting a terrible echo sound in my headset when I use any VoIP service. Try as I might, I cannot isolate, even after removing the board from the case entirely and any non-critical peripherals/hdds.
Aside from that, the computer performs fine for the most part, so I'm not in a hurry.
The go to board for me right now seems like it is going to be the ASUS Sabertooth as it's priced pretty good and has a pretty good set of standard features. ++++.com in Canada has it priced at 220.00 right now, regular price.
Stepping up to the Asus Formula 3 seems more like marketing hype, that there doesn't seem to be much more meat there for an extra 100.00 that I'm honestly going to use once the rig is built. Once the system is online and the overclock is set, the rest is just stuff to talk about over a beer with friends.
I do like what the MSI Big Bang Xpower has to offer, there are a few extra toys in that package that I could make use of (Dual LAN, for example). Although the board has some pretty glowing reviews, I wonder about MSI's reliability long term - having little experience with their products.
Does anyone have any other recommendations about these or any boards in the price range that have a lot of bang-for-your-buck value?
Crossfire is a key factor as I'll be running two 6870's.
