Replacement WiFi Antennas?

I have an Asus Z170I Pro Gaming which has two antenna ports coming out the back panel. Can I just use any standard antenna in this slot? It came with what it claims is a dual-band antenna, but I dislike the design (it's corded, not direct mount).
 
Yeah, they're pretty standard. Just make sure whatever you get is also dual-band. If you're operating in a fixed location, a directional (vice omni-directional) antenna will help boost your signal quite a bit.

Corded antennas will also help, since you can get the antenna out from under the desk and away from sources or interference or blocked signals.
