I have a chance to get on a used HP zr30w but the monitor doesn't have a stand and power cable. Where can I get a stand for it. EBay has one for $140. Reason I'm asking is that the price is really good and is it worth buying an incomplete 30 incher.

*edit HP website has it for $71. Probably the best I can do.

Getting it off the HP website is probably the best. ZR30's power cable is a standard IEC monitor power cable. Whether it is "worth it" or not depends on how great of a deal you're getting on a used zr30, and whether it is pixel perfect etc or not.

Stand is a quality unit that only lack easy transition to portrait mode. Ask about warranty transferring both from the seller as well as HP. HP's warranty/RMA service is great, I say this as a happy zr30 owner.

Is the panel fully functional? Because that is 30% off what used or refurbished ZR30s go for on Ebay.

Yes he said no scratches on the panel itself. Gonna meet up and he will turn it on so I can check it out. But dang I'm still on the fence because those 27 inch Korean panels can do 100+hz at 1440p. And I'm coming from a fw900.

In examining remember that being CCFL (and huge) the panel takes 10 minutes or so to fully warm-up.

All things considered, if you can get warranty service on the HP I'd take it over any of the Koreans any day../..especially for such a steal of a price. HP's warranty/RMA service is the best I've dealt with of any vendor or seller or manufacturer of late.

Also keep in ind that the HP uses very grainy matte coating [all matte ccfl 30 monitors do] and can't display consumer media [games, movies, web, photos] colors properly without greatly over-saturating them [skin tones=sun burned/jersey shore'd] unless used in color managed programs since it is a wide gamut monitor.

The Qnix QX270 is vastly superior, especially when coming from a sharp high res CRT.
