Replacement PSU and geforce 3 fans???

My PSU's fan is dying (only 2 years old), and it won't start with the comp unless I give it a manual go. But, psu fans are not the usual 80mm fans, they have a weird cone shape, you know.

So um, is there a place I could get a new replacement PSU fan or something ?!? what should I do?

My 3 years old geforce 3 ti-200 fan is also dying, what should I buy to replace it? Should I just oil the fans with high performance teflon lube?

Thanks

wow thats a old system.. but replacement cooler for geforce 3 and overclock it more :p
for the psu.... just put in a ordinary 80mm fan

For the Ti200 probably just an Vantec Iceberq 4 would be sufficient. And as above, just buy an 80mm fan and swap it with psu.

I believe the Ti200 used Thermaltake's Blue Orb fan as its stock fan, FWIW.

The Vantec Iceberq4 is kinda loud in my opinion and REALLY high pitched/whiny.....the Tt Orb's are probly a better fit for ya, not nearly has irritating a fan, and you should still get a little more out of it.

Yeah, high performance bicycle chain lube really does the job for fans. I think I'll try that before changing the fans, might give me an extra year or so.

Tough to say, depends on WHY the fan's heading down hill.....might buy you some more time.....but the only surefire way is to ditch it altogethor and grab up an Orb or something.

I wish you luck with it.

You could mod the power supply. Open it up and put a new fan in. Some power supplies attach the cabled to the PSU's PCB, but some use the 3-pin or 2-pin fan connectors. If your PSU is under warrantee just RMA it. Some power supplies have a 3 year warrantee.
Please read a how-to on it first. Power supplies can give you a nasty jolt.

Good advice there all the way. Read up on it a bit first if you've never opened one up before and you should be alright.
