I had the Sennheiser 212pro for little over a year, and the rather lengthy wire tended to not handle abuse to well to the point one ear no longer plays sound. All attempts at repair have failed, so I am in need for a new $40~ headset. I would just buy the 212pros again, if it weren't for the fact when wearing it my ears would get really hot, and it felt sort of cramped. Perhaps I just have large sensitive ears, I am not sure. Anyway, I would prefferably want another closed set, as it will be for a dorm room setting. I listen to all types of music, so it doesn't have to lean particularly towards rock or classical. I have heard some good things about AKG K 26 P, but I can't seem to really find it for sale anywhere, plus there are not too many reviews on it to warrant me being it. I ran into a similiar problem with the MM Gear EDS http://medialineinc.com/shop/product_buy.asp?tmp_no=89 . So can anyone help me out with what I might be looking for?

Thanks.

You know, I hadn't a clue until you linked me that, you could even pull the cable out of the headset. Thanks for that. I am still interested in other suggestions about headsets, since these turned out to be a little uncomfortable.

I agree. I replaced my old beloved open Koss cans for the 212 Pros, not knowing they should have an external amp. And they are cramped. Perhaps I have big ears, I dunno. They're also really tight around my head.

My Koss cans still work, except the plastic for the band has since broken off and all that's left is the cloth that was below it. I have to press them against my head with a hand or they'll fall off.

Spend $99 and get some Sennheisser HD280pros. Your ears will thank you, and your puny little amp.
