I threw away the filter that came with the side panel fan on my computer. The fan keeps things pretty cool but it is louder and now there is a pile of dust on the inside of the computer. With what could I replace the filter? Thanks.

you could either a) buy a new filter, almost all places sell them, or you could cut some pantyhose and stretch it tight over the fan, it's a very cheap and pretty effective filter.

Dryer sheets work too, and add freshness! :D

*Used dryer sheets. If you put a brand new one in there, it still has all the fabric softener goo in it and it doesnt flow very well.

If you want your computer to be "sexy" you can buy those wire mesh aluminum air filters. From what I've seen they work fairly well and let decent air through.

Don't touch the foam ones, they kill airflow.
