A while ago I purchased a Silverstone SST-FP52-B Black for a m-ATX computer I was working on, but didnt get to installing it untill last night.
Upon plugging in a total of 6 fans to the 3 fan controller (18 watt max, 16 watt theoretical max used, all but one were low speed fans), the device physically started smoking, turning all fans on and off rapidly, and eventually completely shutting down all fans, never to turn on again.
A temperature is given, though it is vastly innacurate compared to the real temperature. The fan power indicator correctly indicates no power to the fans is being given, strangely enough.
I need your help; I'd like to know where I can find a powerful fan controller that fits into a 5.25" slot, or whether I should simply replace the fan controller with one of the same model as the one I recieved was defective.(?)
