Im getting my BFG 6800gt tomarrow from BB. It has the blue PCB with the two fan copper cooler, which I heard wasnt that great. I dont really plan on overclocking....maybe jump it to 400 on the core and up the mem a little. Do you think a nv silencer is worth it?
 
After reading a couple reviews on the cooler and being so happy with my Rev3, it appears for the 6800GT it is definately the way to go, I dont even own a 6800GT yet (looking for BFG from a place that doesnt charge WA state tax) and I already have my Silencer on hand. It cools alot better than the stock fan, plus it is almost silent especially compared to the noisy stock fan, which is even more important to me than the improved cooling. For the 6800U I hear the only real advantage is to quiet it down, since it cools only 1-2 degrees cooler than that stock HSF.

I'll say hold off. If you're just gona clock it to 400, the stock cooler will do.
My BFG clocked at 435 with stock cooler and still runs after two hours of doom 3. Try not to replace the stock heatsink so you can still cover with lifetime warranty.
BTW, if you're gona get the card at BB, use the BB 10% coupon and knock the price down to $360. That's how I got mine.
