right now im running 2x 120gig 7200.7 sata/ncq in raid 0

will i notice any speed upgrade by buying 2x 250g 7200.10 and running them in raid 0?

btw the 2x 120s would then move to replace my 5400 60gigs x2 for storage/backup.

Maybe - new drives are generally faster than old ones. But a single Hitachi T7K500 is more space and (I'd wager) better performing. Get that instead.

Benchmarks may go up a few percent, but real-world difference won't likely be very noticeable.

hmm, according to toms hardwear charts the 7200.10 would be 2x faster than the 7200.7s

due to the 8mb 16mb diff i think

i went ahead and orderd 2x 250gig 7200.10s the 1 platter drives. with all the downloads/encodeing i do i get up to the max now on my raid 230gigs so the extra space will do me good. and replaceing my 2 60gigs with the 120s i used now for backup storage will also do me really good.

I wouldn't put much weight on those reviews. Check out Storage Review instead. They have much better tests.
