Repairing screen scratches

I have a CRT that seems to have gotten 1 or 2 long scratches on the screen, the scratch is brighter (which means the anti-glare is gone) and you can't see well underneath it, which means the glass may have taken some as well. I'm wondering if it would be possible and a good idea to remove the entire anti-glare coating, then take some polish paste or something and buff out the area until the scratches are gone, then apply a new anti-glare coating from a spray or something. I'm not sure if that's even possible. The screen is otherwise in perfect condition and this is the only thing annoying me right now. Thanks.

I can get some of that Autosol stuff but I am worried about the usability of the monitor in daylight conditions, I know the coating is pretty thick and it would probably get rid of these scratches if I removed it but I don't think I can apply anything to the screen that would make it look as good as before, or is there? I'd really hate to ruin it it's a damn awesome monitor but somehow the part of the screen got damaged in transport and these scratches are really visible and ruining an otherwise great screen.

OK, I opened up the monitor today and found the anti-glare coating on the front. I used a thin feeler gauge to slide in after pre-heating it and was able to remove the entire coating in one piece, thankfully all the scratches were on it and not on the glass. I spent some time cleaning the residues of the glue and the screen is in pristine condition now. Unfortunately it does reflect a bit more in daylight now, but there has to be some place where I could buy something like this, it's basically just a dark sheet, feels like nylon. I know I can get those that slide over the monitor but they're ugly.

Maybe try some good quality window tint.

Wouldn't that be a bit too thick? The coating that was on was half a milimeter thick, max. I've found that companies like Evonik and 3M sell self-adhesive AR sheets like these, the only thing I'm worried about is how easy it would be to apply them without them getting wrinkled up. I'll try to get a sample from them.
