ok least week i had a problem where i couldnt get windows to boot, i tried booting from a floopy, a cd and nothing was working. Everything i tried would end in an error message aboud windows being shut down to avoid damage to the computer. I ran maxtors powermax bootable floopy and it scanned the disc for errors and foud several errors, after running powermax i was able to start up with no problem at all. Now about a week later I have the same problem, i am at school right now but i will run powermax when i get home. What is causing this? Is the HD going bad or is there something that i am doing to cause this?
Edit: Also sometimes when starting up the comp will say "system failed memory test" instead of the usual "system completed power on self test" but the computer would just restart and everything was fine. Could this have soemthing to do with me turning everything (including the powersupply) off at night?
