Renegade X

Troop to troop combat is very low level stuff. The automated towers will instagib you. You gain credits to buy tanks, rocket tanks and artillery. I didn't get as high as piloting air vehicles. Buying expensive assets is intimidating for new players. The game is awesome. Once I get my 512 GB Samsung Pro SSD in the mail, I'm going to install Win 7 and take a fresh crack at it. I also ordered a Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 780 to replace my Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 480. Everything should come in time for the Titanfall launch.

What is different from the old C&C Renegade game? Looks the same to me with better graphics(which still suck). I did really enjoy the original, but they are acting like the just invented an awesome new type of FPS...

Many people are asking the same question. It's a fun game worth playing (because there is nothing else with a similar game mode), but why did they just recreate the exact same game? They even have the ancient flawed mechanic of "invisible walls" in here lol. Some areas of some maps are designated "infantry only" by literally blocking off the area with an invisible wall that only lets infantry through (your vehicle makes a clanging noise as if it is running into a wall when you try to move into the wide open space). Other areas are blocked to both infantry and vehicles by invisible walls. I hate that in any game, new or old. In-game I even met a hardcore Renegade player that apparently has still been playing the original Renegade all these years. Even after Renegade-X is fully released and fully fixed/optimized, he still plans on playing the original Renegade in addition to Renegade-X because nothing in Renegade-X has been improved so much that it makes him want to stop playing the original. Now, being a hardcore fan, he didn't think that was a bad thing. But if I was a developer of Renegade-X, that would make me seriously rethink the direction of the game.

Tried it for 10 minutes looks fun as soon as I can figure out how to play!

It's nothing like PS2 cause it's 3rd person =)

When was the last time you played C&C Renegade and was really into it?

Renegade-X is a much needed project, as with C&C Renegade there's no development and lots of limitations on its future life. This is why Renegade-X was started: to keep the game alive with minimal differences from the original + some basic improvements that have been much desired from the C&C Renegade community (such as being able to use the gun on the chinook, operate and fly other vehicles and aircraft featured in the game's singleplayer campaign not available in multiplayer, and a few other things).

I stopped playing after they made infantry stealth (with or without actual stealth infantry) attacks pretty much impossible. That was the whole reason that made the game fun to me...having to use team-work to stop enemy infantry from sneaking into the base, and having to use great caution/strategy in order to sneak into the enemy base yourself. Once they made that change, it became more like a regular old FPS, and there are much better regular old FPS games out there. Does this new beta change that?
