Long story short, I have come across a Dell Latitude D600. Upon post, above the DELL logo, there's some words, which would be the company name. Since the laptop no longer belongs to them (surplus), I'd like to take it off.

I've already tried looking in the bios for an option, but could not find one (maybe I'm looking to hard). I've also tried flashing the bios to the newest version.

Using my extensive knowledge with photo editing software (ms paint), I drew up what it looks like:

Thanks.

I'm sure there is a way to take it off through BIOS editors, but I am not familiar with those programs. I'd start with a generic BIOS from the BIOS manufacturer's website.

Dell techs have special bios setup software that you can futz with tags and the like with, and I think it also allows for company branding. I could be wrong.

I already updated the bios to the newest version. the text is still there.

White out seems to work, but there's some white stuff on the screen I can't get off now.

find a bios editor, or maybe even ahex editor, and open a bios file to see if something cant be seen.

cant do that on dells (informative POST)

I basically am just posting to say that your picture is awesome.
