Removing led from fans

i have 2 fans that have leds on them and since i got blue cold cathode lights i dont want green of red leds on the fans any more cuz i want the case to be dark unless the lights are on. so how do i remove them?
 
You should be able to just cut the wires that go to them. Unless their the annoying kind that are in the fan hub.
 
I have no idea then. As I take it you mean the hub, which is the very center of the fan that has the motor and all. (The round part in the center)

Never tried to do it on one of that kind, most of them have the LED's in the frame.
 
its in the frame i guess. if it helps its a antec tri cool with green leds
 
There should be some wires running to led's. If you never want the led's again, just cut those and their off. Or there may be a band running around the outside, same thing as wires.
