removing labels

I am working on cleaning my computer up. I removed a bunch of stickers/labels with a hot air gun. It worked well. Now I am left with the sticky residue. I'm using goo gone and it's working slowly but there's still some mess. Any suggestions?

You dont list what your case is made of.
If it aluminum try acetone. That will remove any glue.

If some other case material it gets risky if the solvent will damage the material. Goof off or Xylene might get it off without damaging it.

Always try a small spot first like on the back of your case and see if it messes up your case.

I'm guessing it's aluminum. I will try to get some acetone tomorrow at work. Would lighter fluid work too?

There are some good sticker removers on spray, just look on a hardware store or drug store.

It's always done the trick for me. Just saturate the area, wait a minute or two and use a plastic scraper, then wipe down when done.

Lighter fluid usually works pretty well, and if you do use acetone, don't get any on plastics.

Lighter fluid should work fine. I've used it on paints and bare aluminum and such without an issue. Just clean it all up afterwards with alcohol.
