I did it on a chip 7 months ago. Temps went do 3 celsius in my vapo, and my max stable OC went up 0. Then i had to be way more carful putting the vapo head on whenever i took it apart to test more chips.

I cant see any benefits. Since there is good cooling out there with the Heatspreader on.
 
I did it and my CPU worked no longer, i dont think its worth the risk... espically if these guys say so too...
