Does anyone know how to remove one of these connectors without damaging it (or have a link to any guides that show pictures how)? I'm trying to install some sleeving on my PS and I didn't see a easy way of disconnecting if from the wires.

On a side note, has anyone found standard tools around the house that work well for popping off Molex and ATX power connectors other then buying a specialized extraction tool?

This forum is completley sweet

on the molex, the onlything that holds it in are barbs on the sides of the pin, once you push them in the pin will slide right out, a screwdriver will do it or any toob that will slide all the way over it and push the barbs own will do.

for the sata i got nothing the ones i had (i cut them off and put on molex) are solid plastic so nothing can be done that ive seen but maybe you have something difrent. you could cut the wire, and put a molex on either end and use that to conect them back togeather later ... maybe

good luck and happy modding

Nope, there's no alternative to either cutting the sata connectors off, applying extra-wide sleeving over the connector as it's pulled through sideways.

Staples work well for mobo connector, and jewelers screwdrivers work well for regular molexes. If you get a Vantac molex replacement kit, it comes with a dinky little tool. For a few bucks it may be worth just picking up a tool.

Awesome, thank you for the response, I will take a closer look and see if I can find anyway around it. I'll let you know if I can find a reasonable trick to get it off without having to cut out the wires.
