Has anyone tried this. I want to overclock one of my video cards with water. Do i need to put RamSinks on the ram as well?

yes you need ran sinks. its a very good idea to have them

I find it interesting that you want to go WC and are asking about RAMsinks. Yes, you want RAMsinks. Which RAMsinks is up to you...start by checking out the Tweakmonster BGAs. Removing the old HSF shouldn't be a problem. :)

or you could always go all out and buy some older alpha CPU sinks like the 6035 or the pal 15u and just cut those up and use em for sinks...however that is expensive...I did this to my GF2 pro...but it worked soo damn good

Interesting? How so? I mean i know i need to cool them somehow. It is a dumb question in a way since i have ramsinks ready to put on there once i remove the HS. Anywho..... just lookin for stuff to mess with.

how do you find it interesting

the WC doesnt cool the ram. so you need sinks

u dont need ramsinks for a 5900 ultra. u can run the memory at 1000mhz and it will just get warm.

I find it interesting because anyone who is willing to WC...why wouldn't ramsinks be a close secondary priority? WC is extreme for many people, therefore it seems to me that anyone willing to go the extra step would obviously want ramsinks at the very least. I do believe one of the original questions was, and I quote, "Do i need to put RamSinks on the ram as well?"

I didn't mean to imply it's a dumb question, just an unnecessary one. Now if you would've asked (or meant) if there are any alternatives, then yeah. But if you have ramsinks ready to go or don't plan on an alternative solution, then of course you should add'm! :D

(P.S. DRJ didn't get my point at all :p )

im just saying ramsinks are cool to have if your going to watercool, but dont be worried if your not going to have them on there, they wont hurt anything.
