Remove screen from g19 keyboard?

Hi all, I recently got a mechanical keyboard and am looking to use that over my g19. However I have come to really love the LCD screen on the g19 and was thinking I could maybe remove it from the keyboard somehow. I searched around but couldn't find any examples of anyone doing this.

I have a dremel but I don't want to ruin the screen while trying to get it out in one piece. I thought I could ask around and see if anyone else has any experience doing this or something similar? Maybe some advice?

Thanks.

Instead of destroying the g19, how about buying a cheap usb lcd screen instead. http://www.amazon.com/Lilliput-Um-70-Monitor-non-touch-Screen/dp/B000AYHY7I/ref=pd_sim_pc_3

That monitor you suggested is not going to work like the G19 LCD, it will just act like a painfully small monitor. There are cheaper and smaller LCD screens out there than the one you posted - ones that won't act like a monitor - the problem is the support for them. They won't do anything at all if you don't know how to program for them. The average person isn't going to get any of those screens to do what the G19's screen does.

What would be GREAT is if there were a reasonably-priced small LCD that would work with the G19's software. Something easy to use that you could put someplace convenient, that wouldn't tie you to the Logitech keyboard, or get thrown out when you spill cola in it.

Failing that, maybe a group of people could get together, write drivers for one of the aforementioned LCDs, make apps and build up an open-source community with it. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't already happened.

You could always get a G13 to use in conjunction with your mechanical keyboard.

I actually use a program called LCDhost with the g19 screen and I am not to sure how compatible it is with other screens. Also I was trying to not spend anymore money and kinda just try to work with what I got. Thanks for the ideas.

If you have the room, you could always get a larger desk with enough space for 2 keyboards. The desk I currently use has a lot of depth so I'm able to have 3 monitors and 2 keyboards on it.

The controller for the screen is embedded on the keyboard. Separating them will render the lcd useles.

I CANNOT for the life of me remember where i saw it, but I read a thread somewhere where someone took the screen out and used it - allegedly. There were a series of pics that weren't quite detailed enough to allow someone to duplicate it, and there weren't any responses to follow-up questions. Maybe he found a way to do it, maybe he was BS'ing us.

I've seen the internals. I'm not saying it's impossible.. but it's damn near and not worth the time or effort.
