Hey guys. I was looking at setting up my home SBS to be able to use the "DynDNS" service so I don't have to memorize my ip all the time. I'd like to be able to access my Remote web workplace from anywhere. Is this possible? I assume it is and I just have to setup port forwarding? Could someone explain me this process?

Thank you for all the help!

Yup.. you pretty much nailed it right on the head. How do intend to connect to the system? VNC? RDP?

You use Internet Explorer for RWW..it's a Sharepoint based portal...can do stuff like hit the main Company Web Sharepoint site, or Outlook Web Access, or connect to servers or workstations through RDP portal which redirects the ports.

So I believe I have my remote web workplace setup.

Do I need to forward any ports from my router to my SBS2003 to be able to access it outside?

443 and 4125

You do NOT need 3389 for remote desktop...the RWW portal will handle the port redirection of that automatically.

Make sure in the SBS ICW you've run it so the SBS Firewall allows that to be accessible from the wild side too. If you're behind a NAT router it's safe to select "Make my entire website accessible".

Do you really need 4125? Or is that the port for RDP over RWW?

I have forwarded 443 and 4125 to my server but still unable to access my RWW.

When I put in my IP address or my Dyndns address in my web browser it's trying to pull up the login screen of my router.

Do I need to forward something else?

IMO the best feature of RWW is how it will handle everyones concurrent remote desktop needs. If you're not using remote desktop to connect to workstations....only doing Outlook Web Access..then you're just using OWA, not RWW. I don't see the point of yanking RDP for RWW.

No..else if there was something else I'd have included that in the list of ports needing to be forwarded.

Make sure the SBS box has allowed it. Try testing it from internally on the LAN..using the LAN IP address naturally. Example.. https://192.168.1.11/remote This will test it to make sure it's actually functional. If it's not working internally..naturally it will not work externally.

Are you remembering to use the httpS ?<==note there is an "s" in there.

Are you trying this from inside of the LAN that the SBS box is on? Using the public dyndns alias? Because your router may not support loopback.
