• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Are there any good programs or software that will allow me control my pc at home, get files and use software like microsoft office and excel remotely?

I have a vpn setup through windows 7 but sometimes I may be at school and most ports are blocked.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

logmein free is one popular one, teamviewer is another more recent free one. Many others out there...check out the "Remote Support Software" sticky thread in this forum..the list has pretty much every single app out there listed in it.

Oh OK, I didn't even see that sticky. I'll check it out.

I would advise you to be careful if you use Microsoft's remote connection software (built into professional) to connect to a machine, it use to pass everything in the open. The newer one's are better, you can select to only allow secure connections. I would also recommend changing the default port of 3389 to something else like 3395.

This is an excellent source:

You will need to open a port, and do some forwarding. Should work pretty well.

RealVNC isn't bad either. You should be able to use Office fine, gaming is will not happen.
