Looking for some thing that can control my HTPC so i can use my Harmony 900.

like power up, when you hit power off to set it in stand by. and will work in XBMC.

any one know of a device that can do this?

Walter

You probably just need a USB IR receiver that's compatible with the Harmony 900, assuming that the H 900 has an operation mode that can properly talk with XBMC (which isn't a stretch). I've used 'universal' remotes that control XBMC in the fashion you describe, with a USB IR receiver, but I have never used with a harmony remote.

XBMC has remote apps for Android and iPhone I believe (I use the iPhone app), it only controls XBMC of course but that's better than nothing.

thx for the answers, bin looking around for an IR receiver that can match what i'm looking for but i guess my google skilles isnt what they use to be.. i dident find any thing use full :(

1) if you got a HDMI-CEC enabled device, then you got this option: http://www.pulse-eight.com/store/products/104-usb-hdmi-cec-adapter.aspx. It is technically a thing, which separates the HDMI-CEC command stream from the HDMI cable and presents it as a serial port to the system, with which libcec & XBMC can communicate. That means both ways - you can control XBMC via your TV or AVR remote, but also XBMC can turn on/off devices.
2) other option is searching for MCE remote : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...TMATCH&Description=MCE+remote&N=-1&isNodeId=1. You get a IR Receiver with all of them. Of course you could search for MCE remote on eBay too.

I would use ebay, search for MCE USB IR.

You can buy a combo with a remote and receiver. Sometimes its nice to have a remote too so you can send the signals to the remote its not currently built-in the harmony database.
