Hi i am going on vacation for a while and i was wonder how to set up a way for me to access my home computer from my wireless laptop, i have tried remote desktop and that works great when i am inside the lan, and i have tried using programs like no-ip.com and i cannot get it to work, i have a belkin 54g router which i think i set it up correctly to be able to allow outside connections on that port, but i am still haveing issues connecting when i am on a different network, is there anythign i can do or any easier ways of doing it
 
Since you didn't specify what port you're actually allowing on your router, I'll ask. Are you allowing incoming traffic on port 3389? And is the router forwarding the port to your PC? Just opening the port isn't always enough, you must make sure its routing to your computer as well.

If you do have that set up, then you should be able to connect to the external IP of your router, or the name you're using with the dynamic DNS service.
