Hello, I am having problems with remote desktop. I have a pc and desktop both running windows 7 premium. I found out that you cant connect to a premium windows using remote desktop.

My goal is to play music from my desktop speakers from my laptop wireless. I was wondering if anyone knew any alternate ways to do this without upgrading to windows 7 ultimate.

Thank You.

This had nothing to do with remote desktop, why are you even trying that?

You just need to setup a share folder with your music and have the music player on the other machine use that folder.

Thank you for responding. I had no idea where to start with this task. I actually realized it was kinda retarded then posted a new one in the sound section.

I appreciate you helping me with that solution, im going to try it rite now.

Thanks

I believe Winamp has a server addon that allows you to via a webpage interface control what is playing and the volume from a remote location.
You can also use TightVNC or teamviewer. if u just want to have a Remote Desktop like interface.

I believe you could do this with iTunes on both computers. Especially for controlling tracks. iTunes Home Sharing I believe it's called.

I have used Winamp and just set the music folder to the share drive. Works great.

I was thinking more like he might have a soundsystem hooked to his main computer and he is trying to control it from the laptop cause otherwise he would have to settle for the laptop's sound.

You can do this with iTunes, VLC, WinAMP, Windows Media Player, or just by having a shared directory on the desktop and pointing the laptop's library at that.
