LOL excuse me for such a newbish question, but what does the controller for the Audigy2 ZS Platinum actually control? I mean I just got my computer up and running with it but I have no idea how to use it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it for the software, MediaSource or something? I haven't got to install it yet because I don't want to install unnecessary programs from the CD and to have it bloat my computer.

Is there anyway I can control Winamp with it?

You may be able to control Winamp via the Girder automation tool for Windows. I am not familiar with your remote, but you should definitely try one of the plugins available for Creative-branded remotes:

No, I'm not confused, I just don't know which model of remote you have. You can experiment with the available plugins and see which one works best for you. I wouldn't imagine that Creative would need to change its remote very much, but who knows.
