Are there any TV remote controls that work through walls? If so, what are they? :)
 
TV remote controls use IR (infared) which travels in lines and doesn't go through walls. You would need to look for something based on RF. :(

This sounds like a mean joke. Anyway, you can get IR extenders that pretty much what you do is put an eye in the room you want to be in, it transmits via RF to the entertainment room and converts back to IR, I know my dads old phillips pronto could use it.

Some universal remotes use both IR and RF. They'll come with an extender so it'll be pretty obvious that they do. If you're happy with your current remote you can always just buy an IR extender.

does the IR extender go on the remote or the tv?
 
I found the Logitech Harmony 890 Advanced Universal Remote which looks like a great deal. But some of the reviews on amazon state that you need to connect the TV to the box that comes with the remote.

Can anyone who has this remote explain?
