Not sure where to stick this, outside of rewiring into a light switch has anyone used a remotely controlled power setup? I wanna be able to shut off my monitors remotely. The most common thing I've found is a Belkin made Remote strip but its got some pretty frightening reviews.

I'm not sure if this meets your requirements, but I use a Belkin WeMo with a power bar attached to control a set of Ikea LED lights. The app for Android is pretty crappy, but there are better third-party options available. As a bonus, it's compatible with Alexa, which I use regularly.
