Remembering the Challenger Disaster

I don't know exactly where it was when it happened. I heard about it after class when I was in the dorms. The hallway was filled, and a friend came up to me and told me. I really thought he was screwing with my head. I was in an engineering school (GT), and this is what we were all about there. Engineering great feats. It took a bit to sink in, I didn't have a TV, but it finally did.

We're all doomed to ultimate failure. We were engineered to do so.

I don't know, I'd have to ask my mom since I was inside her belly. I was born later in 1986.

I had just woken up in Pusan, South Korea when President Reagan went on the air with his speech, and didnt know what he was talking about other than people died. As soon as they replayed the launch after the speech I knew exactly what happened.

My father told me when I talked to him he told Mom that they should delay the launch because the cold does strange things to rubber at times, which is exactly what happened.

I was a sophomore in high school. They brought a TV into our science class. Everyone was pretty stunned, obviously.
