Reliable Office Chairs?

I'm hoping this is the right place to post this, I found a post from a while back asking about a specific office chair, which is why I decided to post here. I can't seem to find much reliable info regarding office chairs, what I should be looking at and what I should be avoiding.

I tend to go through chairs like water, I'm not that big a guy either (240lbs.) What brands or specific models would you recommend that will last me a reasonable amount of time for my money? I just can't keep on putting down $100 every year or so for a new chair because my old one snapped again.

If there's already a thread regarding this, please direct me to it, I'd be happy for any info I can get.

Edit: I've been thinking about mesh if it's affordable, but really anything will do.

I agree, the Leap is a VERY nice chair. Also, Craigslist is a great source for finding 24/7-rated office chairs on the cheap. ;) I use the Steelcase Springboard which I got off of CL for super cheap. :D The ErgoHuman is a popular Aeron alternative, if thats the kind of chair you're looking for... here are some older threads: (though, i didn't read through them to make sure they're relevant, lol)

I've worked at Steelcase and my dad works at Herman Miller, they both make great quality office chairs, I have a Herman Miller myself and it is very solidly built. I have access to both company stores, so i get great discounts.

You could find a good deal on a used one of those, but new, they are an arm and a leg.

I bought my Leap chair through my corporate employer. I got the same bulk price they buy for.

I recently bought a Steelcase Stella keyboard tray also.

Does anyone have the Leap headrest add-on?

Yeah, out of curiousity... Are we talking substantial discounts or like 10-15% off msrp? Wondering if I should go get a part time job at Herman Miller... >_>
