I just picked up a new IT client, and their physical location has been broken into twice, so they like to have an alternating backup system the owner can take home each night.

They currently have two of these drives - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...8405&cm_re=seagate_1tb-_-22-148-405-_-Product

They are less than a year old - one of them clicks. Anyone have a recommendation on a good external drive? I would prefer one without a power button (these seagates dont have them), so that the employees can not turn them off on accident.

Also, I guess these systems of offsite backups must be getting rarer as cloud backup becomes more popular. I started my business a year ago, and was expected to encounter several businesses that used a revolving hard drive/tape system, but this is the first one.

My one gripe with the MyBook drives is that they're a PITA to disassemble if you ever want to reuse the enclosure with another drive. Not impossible, but a bitch.

Ya, I had hard time cracking open the case when I replaced a dead 500GB with a 1TB Black in my first WD My Book, the one with the green round light.
