Heya folks!

Does anyone know when the expected or exact (preferably) release date for the x1650xt will be? I'll be in the market for a sub $150 video card soon that needs to be fairly small (aka 7600 series or x1600/x1650 series) due to having a SFF case (Enermax Venus).

I was seriously considering the 7600GT until I read the latest reviews of the x1650xt. I still may go with the 7600GT, especialy if the x1650xt isn't available soon as I will be without a gaming card fairly soon! Keep in mind that my Princeton 1950LCD 19" Digitial Flat Panel monitor has a native res of 1280x1024 @ 75hz so going with higher series video card would be basicaly a waste of money. The current mATX PSU is 350watts and has 22A on the +12v rail so that is another factor in card choice. The qualifications would be a video card that is fairly short in size and has enough power to allow 30+ FPS in 1280x1024 res with AA & AF enabled. The x1650xt seems to fit the bill exactly.

Any info/help would be greatly appriciated! Thanks in advance!

- Peace

Anyone? I think I read someplace that the release date was set for November 13th but for the life of me I can't remember! I also just contacted newegg.com and inquired as to when they would have them in stock and they have no clue either! :(

October 30th.

I can't find it for sale anyplace!?!

ZipZoomFly was the only place I could find that had it listed. It was Sapphire brand but it was as out of stock. :(

Thanks for the reply, Mark! ;)

Newegg had it about a week ago, and the Sapphire card was $119.99, if I recally correctly.

Damn, then their rep lied to me or just didn't have any clue!

Probably the latter.

Zipzoomfly is the only place that seems to "have" it, but as you know, they are out of stock.

It is a possibility that the Newegg listing was an error, as well.

Mark, thanks for the heads up!

Looks like I have to just sit tight and wait for a little bit...

I should just get a 7600GT but this card looks soooo promising!

Wonderfull! ZipZoomFly shows it in stock right now!!!

The catch is that they are charging over MSRP (currently $165) with free shipping! :(

At that price, the card is really not worth it when compared to, lets say a x1950pro that is selling at some places for just under $200!

I wish I could just get a 7900/x1800/x1900 ect and get it over with but they just will not physicaly fit inside my SFF case without some minor modifications.

OK! If any of you still care...

The good news is that I've found 3 places that carry the new x1650xt as of 11/15/06 ! The bad news is that all three are over MSRP! Big suprise there! The least expensive so far being a Sapphire x1650xt @ $165 + Free Shipping! At their current prices, I just don't know if you can justify buying one even though they are on par or slightly better in some instances with the 7600GT but then again, you can score a 7600GT for $20 to $30 less atm! :(

1) Asus ATI Radeon X1650XT 256MB 2DVI/HDTV PCI-Express Video Card @ eWiz.com

2) HIS Hightech H165XTQT256GDDN-R Radeon X1650XT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail @ Newegg.com

3) Sapphire Radeon X1650 XT 256MB PCI-Express Video Card w/Dua-DVI, HDTV-Out Retail ***Free Shipping*** @ ZippZoomFly.com

Thanks Mark! Wonderfull review all around! I see you were able to come up with some slightly different numbers compared to a few other sites who reviewed the same board but that is to be expected. You hit the nail on the head with your conclusion with the current prices being as they are and the fact that the 7600GT is a bit less expensive! I'm hoping that by the end of the month, we'll start to see wider variety as well as prices nearing the original MSRP! Otherwise, how can you justify purchasing the x1650xt compared to the less expensive 7600GT!?!

to be continued...
