Hey, all. I'm trying to reinstall XP - I can boot from CD, but when I get the the setup screen (Where you can hit R to repair, F3 to exit, or enter to continue), I cannot proceed. I only have a USB keyboard - there is NO ps/2 port (i have a dell dimension 9100). what can I do?

if you can get into your BIOS, there's options to enable USB. If your using a logitech KB, make sure u are not F Locked.

USB is already enabled - I can use the keyboard fine in BIOS - but it's only when I get to the setup screen after boot from CD - that's where the keyboard stops working.

switch out the KB--not much in the way of suggestions i know

look in the bios to see if theres an option for "Enable USB Keyboard Support" or something like that. If i have that off, I cannot use my USB keyboard until hotplug (linux thing) is up. When the bios setting is on, the keyboard can behave like a ps2 keyboard, good for anything.
