One problem after another it seems with my server. I have a RAID5 array that had a drive failure, so I got a new drive and put it in. When I turned on the server the machined posted, and the XP logo showed up. Prompted me to logon and then just hung. I was not sure if the raid software was rebuilding the drive, so i let it run overnight just in case. I let it run for 16 hours and it still just had a blank screen. So I powered down. Then restarted it and got the same thing. So I powered down again and tried to boot to the last known good configuration. It repaired a bunch of corrupted files and then stoppped and show the BSD with a physical memory dump.
Onto my question. The OS is on a 10GB hdd and then I have a rocketraid 454 raid card that does the RAID5 array. Can I reformat my 10GB OS drive without affecting my data on my array?
Any help is appreciated.
