reinstall napp-it

Hi,

because of some strange problems i want to reinstall my omni OS with napp-it.

At the moment i have rpool and tank.

Is it possible to import the comstar's logical unit(s)? And if yes how?

Or would the backup/restore feature suffice?

I tried it with a test system and do not seem to be able to import the LU's.

You have different options

If you created iSCSI targets using the simple way in napp-it where you can set a filesystem to
share iscsi=on in menu ZFS filesystems, you can re-enable it by simply re-activate the iscsi share.

If you have created complex iSCSI settings in menu Comstar, you can save/restore these settings
in menu Comstar > Save/Restore (require that you manually save/restore the config file).
The napp-it backup functionality saves this among others to a datapool. You must restore
napp-it settings in /var/web-gui/_log manually ex via WinSCP.

Last option is that you import a logical unit in menu Comstar > Logical Units > Import LU.
You can import zvol or filebased LUs but must recreate groups and views manually.

If you had replicated a zvol, you can import the Zvol as a LU but must (re) assign a GUID.
This can be done in the import menu.

It takes a little while (lun shows up @ esx as a dead-link at first) but it works.


The LU's only appear after restoring the BKP file?
