Because you are probably typing on the SEARCH line not RUN line. Click on regedit.exe and it will work just fine. If it is still missing for you, you have a broken install, network restrictions, or an inability to spell properly.

Huh? I'm telling him it IS there and my screenshot proves that. You can search for any application and launch it instantly from the Search bar in Windows 7 (and Vista for that matter...)
