Hi Folks,
Does anyone have any experience with PC Power & Cooling refurbished products? I was looking at the Silencer 750 EPS12V. Granted the refurbished ones are only $30 less. For the difference is it worth it?

You know, as I type this I am thinking...... $1k for a CPU, $400 for a MB, $400 for memory and I am wondering about $30 less for a PS?

They have the same warranty, and since they almost-certainly won't take any parts with them if they go, I say go for it.

Personally I wouldn't have the guts to go for a refurbished PSU, especially when it's going into a several K dollar system, although I guess that it should be fine since they have fixed it and assumeable tested it before putting it up for sale...

if it has the same warranty as a brand new one, why not?
$30 is still a decent chunk of change that u can use for something else...take the wife/girlfriend out to a movie!

Who did the refurbishing and testing?

If PC Power and Cooling did all of the above, then I would feel quite comfortable with one of them.

If some no-name, dirt-floored facility did the above, then I'd steer clear.

I think I've heard this about every computer component except the floppy drive. ;)

no one uses floppy drives anymore, or do they? :p
CDs and DVDs are so cheap...if u need a boot disc, it just as easy to burn one...

From all the comps I had you can always set the first boot device either in the bios or by pressing some key on boot up.

Anyways, I would go for it. If it was refurbished by the manufacturer why not? They still have to test it and make sure it meets standards.
