Refurb vs. New Cameras

I'm in the market for a digital camera to replace my Kodak DX4330. I've been looking a lot at the Canon S50. It seems to have all the features I want and then some, and the reviews I've been reading are almost all positive. My main concern is whether I should go with new or refurbished. Most of the refurbs I've seen go for around $300-325 + shipping, where new ones start at $360-375. I know the warranty is shorter on refurbs, but is that the only difference? Is there any reason why I should go with new over refurb? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I would need to save at least $75 for a refurb. Be sure the refurb is from a reputable dealer with a easy return policy.

i just bought a refurb a60 for 179 canadian, which is about 133 usd. The retail price at most stores in canada was 300, so i figured for 120 bucks it was worth it to give it a try. When i got it there wasnt a scratch on it, it works perfect and i couldnt be happier. It looks brand new to me. I may have been lucky, im not sure, but for the one i got, and for the price i got it, I'm glad i got a refurb.
