Refurb projector?

So apparently I can get a refurbished InFocus X1 projector for what appears to be a decent price ($550, I'm sure you've all seen the same deal). I'm horrifyingly tempted to go for it, but I'm a little worried that it only comes with a 90-day warranty, and also that I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to projectors. As compared to other projectors, 1100 lumens seems a bit low, but other than that the resolution and contrast ratio and all that seem to be roughly standard.

Would I be running a big risk by buying a refurbished projector, or would you all say it's a good deal? Also, can someone suggest a decent screen that's not $100?
