Refresh Rates

Noob here, have a question on refresh rates. i currently have it set to 75 htz. is their any benefit to setting it higher? the highest my will go is 85htz.

Depends on the monitor, really... if you have an lcd/FPD then it's best that you read your manual and check for the optimal refresh rate... and with a CRT, just make sure you're above 75.....then play around till you get the setting that looks best to you
 
Note that on many monitors higher refresh rates tend to be blurrier than lower ones.

Low refresh rate => wavy screen
max refresh rate => less sharp images

So, just find the sweet spot for your eyes (usually between 75-100hz).
